ABOUT ME
I am not the typical alpine skier. I am from Piemonte, the wine country side of Italy and I grew up in Milano. My parents have nothing to do with skiing, but they did an amazing job to make me love this sport and of course to drive me up to the mountains every possible weekend.
Now I describe myself as an old-style mountain man, with a huge passion for the outdoors and adventures. I also have a love for food and wine, which are the family business and tradition. Sports and games are my life: climbing and mountaineering but I quickly switch to surfing and sailing at the right time of the year.
At the end of the day I believe that the two opposite environments, the mountains and the water, really look alike when it comes to adventures.

  • What MOMENT do you ski for?

If I need to be honest, I started to ski for the competition. I loved the fact that the only judge is Mr. time. With time my “moments” evolved. Now I love to be the first up on the mountain, to challenge myself on the most difficult hills of the world, but also to experience a wonderful sunrise or a walk on the cold crispy snow.

MORE

  • How do you recharge your batteries for the next challenge?

Spending time with my friends and family doing activities that I love with no specific plan or routine.

  • What’s your favorite quote? Why does this quote resonate with you?

Per aspera ad astra (is a popular Latin phrase meaning "through hardships to the stars").
My grandfather told me that after I failed at school. Since then bad moments have not been a problem.

  • How do you conquer difficult situations?

Work ethic and empathy.

  • What sacrifices have you had to make to get to where you are today and were they worth it?

I didn’t have to sacrifice anything. I always did what I felt like and believed was the best thing for me.

  • How does your mindset (or attitude) influence your performance?

I LIVE THE MOMENT, so I am 100% in when I am racing.  And this helps me to get the flow and avoid unconstructive stress.

  • What do you do when you aren’t skiing?

Spend time with my friends and family doing activities that I love with no specific plan or routine.
Basically I Live The Moment.

  • What strategy do you use to overcome pressure and stress for optimum performance?

Avoid people with low energy.
